    Richard Lamb - Club Chairman

    With over 2 decades of experience in rugby, Rich has been instrumental in leading the Dhofar Nomads. His vision is to create an inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy the sport, regardless of skill level. Under his guidance, the club has fostered a strong sense of community, encouraging participation and personal growth among all its members.

    Sajid Nasim - Club Secretary

    The Club Secretary is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the club. This includes organising logistics for our away games, ensuring smooth operations for the team, handling player registrations, and maintaining effective communication with our members and external partners.

    Ashadh Zareen - Treasurer

    Ashadh manages the club's finances with meticulous attention to detail. His financial acumen ensures that we can sustain and grow our operations, allowing more players to join and enjoy the game. With his expertise, we can confidently invest in better training facilities and equipment, further enhancing the experience for our members.

    Ayush Khokhani - Sponsorship Member

    As the Sponsorship Member, Ayush is responsible for fostering strong connections with our local business partners, ensuring their ongoing support for the club's activities and events. She works to create beneficial partnerships that support both our sponsors and our club, contributing to the continuous growth of our community.

    Jenay Bernstien - Social Member

    Overseeing our social activities and community outreach, Jenay plays a pivotal role in building connections with local enterprises with the Sponsorship Member to obtain essential support for our programs.

    Nicole Fourie - Media + Marketing Member

    Nicole effectively oversees our social media platforms, engaging with the community and promoting our club's activities. She also collaborates with local media to enhance our visibility and reach.

    Ben Anderson - Coach + Safeguarding

    Responsible for overseeing the development of players and maintain the skill level of the members fo the Dhofar Nomads players selected for the National Team as well as managing our safeguarding policies for vulnerable adults and young adults. Ben also focuses on implementing training programs designed to enhance athletic performance and foster teamwork, ensuring that each member feels supported and motivated to achieve their personal best.

    Onaiza Shaikh - First Aid

    Onazia oversees on-field first aid during training sessions and matches. She is also tasked with managing our emergency action plan, ensuring that everyone is aware of how to implement it should an emergency arise. With her training in World Rugby's First Aid standards, Onazia plays a crucial role in keeping our players healthy and injury-free.

    Vicky Pearce - Grassroots Rugby

    Vicky leads our grassroots rugby initiative designed to introduce children to the sport starting from the age of 5. Sessions are conducted at BSS every Thursday, where young participants learn foundational fitness, essential skills, and the importance of teamwork. Vicky is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, including Hannah and John at BSS, as well as Ben at AGS.

    Touch Rugby

    Touch rugby originated in Australia and has steadily progressed around the world. It is a six-a-side game with more than double that as subs.

    Touch rugby is a minimal and limited contact sport and enjoys the ability of being able to be played by mixed gender teams. Touch rugby also has its own international federation - FiT.

    Rugby 7s

    Rugby 7s has been an Olympic sport since 2016, the seven-a-side game is played over two halves lasting ten minutes each.

    The most accessible form of the game for beginners, it follows a tournament format, with international competitions spread over one to three days. The main competition for 7sin the world is the HSBC 7s Series

    ​

    Teams usually play several games a day. 7s is a contact version of Rugby.

    Rugby Union 15s

    Rugby union is the most popular and widely known form of the game. It is played in many countries around the world.

    ​

    The game turned professional in 1995 and is a showcase of the sport. Union has multiple rule variations to allow it to be enjoyed by all ages and shapes. Competitions such as the 6 Nations, World Cup and The Rugby Championship are the most famous.

  • Grassroots Rugby

    Every Thursday British School Salalah hosts our grassroots rugby afterschool club, dedicated to cultivating teamwork, sportsmanship, and competitiveness in the future generations.
